My Body’s A Zombie For You
Dead Man’s Bones
Dead Man’s Bones
Jon Gamero here with a public service announcement. Fame is not a toy. Here we have the Do’s and Do-Not-Do’s of making the jump from the silver screen to the recording stuido.
- Do: Pull a Ryan Gosling and start a folky theme band (with buddy Zach Shields) based on your love of ghosts, zombies, and all things spooky.
- Do NOT: Pull an Eddie Murphy and write a throw-away club hit with once-legend Rick James.
- Do: Collaborate with a local children’s choir started by Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame with the purpose of fostering youngun’s musical education.
- Do NOT: Collaborate with Motown legends with the purpose of butchering a soul classic.
- Do: Rely on an original sound using a juxtaposition of strong young vocals along with a gravely-voiced front man.
- Do NOT: Rely on your looks and flavor-of-the-month status and let your backup singers do the heavy lifting.
The big name actor turned bard for the undead and company have only done one tour with nothing else announced. I’m excited to see if the band will turn up anything else. Also, I apologize for reminding any followers that Bruce Willis ever had a singing career.
